Umid Akhmadjanov resigns from the office of NOC President

Today, May 15, the president of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Uzbekistan Umid Akhmadjanov resigned, a source in the Committee confirmed to Kun.uz.
According to the source, the event is currently taking place in the NOC, where a new president is expected to be elected.
It should be recalled that on January 16, 2018, an extraordinary report and election conference of the National Olympic Committee was held in Tashkent, during which a new management team of the sports organization was elected. Then the head of the Uzbekistan Football Federation Umid Akhmadjanov was elected president of the NOC. In this position, he replaced Alisher Sultanov, who headed the committee since January 2017.
On January 25, 2018, it was decided to rename the Football Federation of Uzbekistan to the Football Association. During the extraordinary reporting and election conference, the participants also chose a new president of the Football Association. The head of the association became Achilbay Ramatov. In turn, Umid Akhmadjanov was demoted to the post of deputy president.
