This protocol will make it possible to begin the procedure for agreeing on a draft of a new Treaty on certain sections of the state border, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic said in a statement.
The document was signed from the Uzbek side by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and from the Kyrgyz side – by the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Kamchybek Tashiev.
“Today, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are close neighbors, true friends and strategic partners. Kyrgyzstan is fully ready for further expansion of political, trade, economic, investment, transport, interregional, cultural and humanitarian ties with Uzbekistan,” Kamchybek Tashiev said.
Abdulla Aripov, in turn, confirmed the full determination of the Uzbek side to agree on the draft Treaty on the delimitation and demarcation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border.
