Hong Kong aims to boost exports to Europe via Uzbekistan
The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and aviation authorities in Hong Kong have reached an agreement that will facilitate the export of goods to Europe, Turkey, the Arab states, and other regions through Uzbekistan. This agreement positions Uzbekistan as a key transit hub for cargo transport between Asia and Europe.

The Ministry of Transport emphasized the strategic importance of Uzbekistan's geographical location in enabling it to serve as a vital transit link for these cargo operations. In addition to cargo transport, Hong Kong also garners attention from major international airlines due to its extensive flight network, which includes both freight and passenger routes.
Previously, Hong Kong had declined Uzbekistan's requests to establish air connectivity. However, with this new agreement, the two sides will work to strengthen connections that will foster trade, economic cooperation, logistics, and tourism.
"Despite its small territory and lack of natural resources, Hong Kong remains a leading re-export hub in the Asia-Pacific region due to its favorable tax environment and numerous incentives for businesses," the Ministry of Transport stated.
