Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia urges migrants to legalize their status

According to a decree issued by the President of Russia, the "Register of Controlled Persons" came into effect on February 5, managed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). This register includes foreign citizens who have committed administrative violations related to migration law.

Those included in the register must either leave Russia or legalize their status by April 30. To do so, they should contact the MIA’s territorial offices, branches of the "Passport and Visa Service," or, in Moscow, the multifunctional migration center "Sakharovo."

An "amnesty period" is in effect until April 30, during which foreign citizens will not face deportation, forced detention in special institutions, or entry bans.

However, individuals listed in the register lose several rights:

- The ability to purchase and register real estate and vehicles;
- The ability to marry;
- The ability to register legal entities, businesses, and individual entrepreneurship;
- The ability to open bank accounts and conduct financial transactions;
- The ability to drive vehicles;

Additionally, their minor children will be denied admission to educational institutions, including schools and kindergartens.
