EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso to visit Uzbekistan

Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will visit Uzbekistan on June 10–11. During her visit to Tashkent, she is scheduled to meet with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and participate in the Foreign Investors Council meeting and the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

As part of her two-day visit, Renaud-Basso will also hold bilateral meetings with Deputy Prime Minister and EBRD Governor Jamshid Khodjaev, and with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov.

She is expected to co-chair the third plenary session of the Foreign Investors Council and deliver a speech at the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

During the visit, the EBRD plans to sign several investment agreements aimed at developing sustainable infrastructure and supporting Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector.

Uzbekistan has remained the EBRD’s largest recipient of funding in Central Asia for the fifth consecutive year. To date, the bank has invested around €5.6 billion in 181 projects across the country, with the majority of the funding directed toward supporting private entrepreneurship.
