Up to 50 flights a week: Uzbekistan and Oman deepen aviation cooperation

Representatives from Uzbekistan and Oman have reached an agreement to implement an open skies regime at the airports of Samarkand and Salalah.

The aviation authorities of Uzbekistan and Oman recently held negotiations to discuss the launch of direct air connections between the two countries, including planned flights by Oman Air to Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Transport reported.

Following the talks, both sides signed an agreement allowing airlines from each country to operate up to 50 flights per week.

Additionally, the two parties granted permission to implement an open skies policy at Samarkand International Airport and Salalah International Airport, and to utilize the fifth, sixth, and seventh freedom rights for cargo transportation between both nations.

The Ministry noted that it will provide the necessary support for the launch of Oman Air’s regular direct flights to Uzbekistan later this year.
