Furqat district official passes away following health complications at government meeting

The meeting, led in a critical tone by Furqat district governor Elyor Asronqulov, was attended by local neighborhood leaders. According to the district administration, Abdullayev expressed his intention to resign from his position due to deteriorating health and left the meeting. Shortly after, while in the courtyard of the administration building, his condition worsened.

Emergency medical services were called, and Abdullayev was taken to the district medical association, where he tragically passed away despite doctors' efforts.

Following this, social media users began circulating claims that Abdullayev died after being treated harshly by the district governor during the meeting. In response, the Furqat district administration press office released an official statement addressing the incident.

According to the statement, the meeting was held on June 18 and involved the chairs of all local neighborhood assemblies. The discussion focused on the duties assigned to neighborhood leaders and the execution of their responsibilities. The administration acknowledged the critical tone of the session but denied the use of any offensive language directed at individuals.

"Sharifjon Abdullayev, chair of Kaldushon neighborhood, stated during the meeting that he wanted to step down due to health reasons and left the room. After experiencing health complications in the administration courtyard, an ambulance was called, and he was taken to the district’s medical facility," the statement reads.

Despite medical intervention, he passed away at the hospital.

For context, Elyor Asronqulov has served as the governor of Furqat district since August 2024.
