Cargo transport demand from Uzbekistan nearly doubles in Q2
Demand for export cargo shipments from Uzbekistan surged in the second quarter of the year, according to a report by the digital freight marketplace ATI.SU.

The number of posted requests for transporting goods to other countries increased by 89% compared to the same period in 2024. For the first half of the year, the volume of export shipment requests was up by two-thirds. Freight rates, however, remained at last year’s level.
Russia remains the main destination for exports by road, with a 79% increase in quarterly shipment requests. Demand for deliveries to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus also rose.
Meanwhile, import freight activity showed a more restrained trend. In the second quarter, the number of cargo transport requests from abroad grew 34% year-on-year but dropped 15% compared to the first quarter. Similar to exports, the trend was largely driven by shipments from Russia. While requests declined 16% compared to the beginning of the year, they still showed 29% annual growth.
Domestic cargo transport within Uzbekistan also saw a sharp increase – up 73% in the second quarter and 78% for the first half of the year. Prices for domestic logistics services rose by 37%, indicating growing competition for cargo.
“The emerging trend of declining shipments from Russia is primarily due to the stronger ruble and the decreasing competitiveness of Russian goods. Overall, however, the market is steadily expanding – both in international and domestic segments,” said Farid Vakhidov, head of ATI.SU’s office in Uzbekistan.
According to him, the increase in freight requests also reflects a growing reliance on digital tools in the logistics sector. Market participants are gradually moving away from using messengers to find carriers and shipments, opting instead for specialized platforms.
