Over 80,000 license plates sold in Uzbekistan in H1 2025

More than 80,000 license plates were sold in Uzbekistan during the first half of 2025, according to the Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX).

From January to June 2025, the exchange recorded contracts worth a total of UZS 107.6 trillion – an increase of 36.5 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

The largest transactions on the exchange were in agricultural products (44 percent), fuel and energy products (19 percent), and ferrous and non-ferrous metals (19 percent).

During the six-month period, more than 80,000 vehicle license plates were sold through the online platform avtoraqam.uzex.uz, with total sales amounting to UZS 378.7 billion. All auctions were conducted online.

“Of the license plates sold, 96 percent were purchased by individuals, while 4 percent were bought by legal entities,” the report stated.

The lowest price for a license plate during the period was UZS 1.7 million, while the highest reached UZS 509.6 million.

For comparison, in the first half of 2024, more than 104,900 license plates were sold through the exchange for a total of UZS 426.2 billion. Back then, the lowest price was also UZS 1.7 million, while the most expensive plate sold for UZS 517.1 million.
