According to the State Security Service report, the individual is the director of a private company engaged in geological services. With the intent of illicit enrichment, he gained the trust of a local citizen by claiming he previously held senior positions at the Ministry of Mining and Geology and possessed confidential geological maps and photographs showing the locations of gold deposits in Samarkand and Jizzakh regions. He allegedly offered to sell these materials for $25,000.

During a sting operation conducted by the Samarkand regional department of the SSS, the suspect was caught red-handed while receiving $10,000 of the agreed sum. Physical evidence was secured at the time of arrest.

However, an assessment by relevant authorities later concluded that none of the materials in question were classified.

A criminal case has been opened against the individual, and investigative procedures are currently underway.
