Chinese company Shandong Aipurui Steel Plate Co. Ltd is planning to establish a metal processing plant in Uzbekistan’s Fergana region, according to the regional administration’s press service.
On April 7, governor of the Fergana region Khayrullo Bozorov held talks with the company’s director, Han Zongbai. The main focus of the meeting was the planned metal processing facility in the “Taraqqiyot” industrial zone in Tashlak district.
The project includes the production of metal products, with part of the output intended for export. The total investment is estimated at $120 million.
The plant will be developed in three phases and, once operating at full capacity, is expected to create around 500 jobs. The first phase of the plant is scheduled to begin operations in October this year.
The two sides also discussed joint efforts to improve infrastructure around the production site. Governor Bazarov noted that the Taraqqiyot industrial zone could also host business forums and other events.
