President Mirziyoyev and President Ilham Aliyev signed the Treaty on Allied Relations during the Azerbaijani leader’s state visit to Uzbekistan on August 23, 2024, in Tashkent.
About the treaty
The treaty establishes a new phase of bilateral relations between the two countries, aimed at reinforcing their independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and sustainable economic development through a legally binding framework.
It also commits both parties to refrain from joining any blocs or alliances directed against each other and to avoid participating in any actions that, in the view of either side, could harm the strategic partnership or allied relations between the two nations.
The ratification of this treaty underlines and further strengthens mutual trust, friendly ties, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
