Health Ministry approves list of diseases for free treatment
Starting July 1, eligible citizens in Uzbekistan will receive free treatment for diseases across 13 medical specialties.
The Minister of Health has issued an order approving a list of diseases for which treatment for eligible citizens will be funded by the state budget starting July 1.
Treatment for eligible individuals will be provided free of charge based on a doctor’s prescription and a referral generated through the “Electronic Healthcare” information system.
According to the document, 13 medical specialties are covered, including urology, traumatology, pulmonology, oncology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, cardiology, gastroenterology, and others.
Since January 1, the following groups have been entitled to free planned inpatient medical care through an electronic queue system at district (city) and regional medical institutions in regions where state medical insurance mechanisms have been implemented:
- Taxpayers of personal income tax or social tax;
- Individuals who, in accordance with the Tax Code, have paid the required taxes for calculating work experience;
- Minors, students of educational institutions, pregnant women, individuals caring for children under two years of age, officially registered unemployed persons, state pension recipients, and members of families identified as low-income through the “Unified Social Protection Register” information system or as poor through the “Poor Families Register” information module.
